AT THE NEXT LEFT CAUCUS MEETING:
Α Modest Proposal for Overcoming the Euro Crisis
NOV 30 – 1:15 pm to 3:00pm – EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT – BRUSSELS
Room Jan 4Q2 > József Antall building
The next LEFT CAUCUS event will take place in the European Parliament on the 30th of November. Yanis Varoufakis and Stuart Holland will present their Modest Proposal for Overcoming the Euro Crisis and a debate with regard to the Euro Crisis and the possible solutions will follow.
The Modest Proposal outlines a three-pronged, comprehensive solution to the eurozone crisis that simultaneously addresses the three main dimensions of the current crisis in the eurozone (sovereign debt, banking, and underinvestment), restructures both a share of sovereign debt and that of banks, and does not involve a fiscal transfer of taxpayers’ money. Additionally, it requires no moves toward federation, no fiscal union, and no transfer union.
The LEFT CAUCUS is a platform established by progressive MEPs of different four political groups and open to everyone in the community of the European Parliament standing for social justice, peace, sustainability, solidarity and fairness in the economy.
The latest version of the Modest Proposal (2.2) can be downloaded here.
